A −20°C to +60°C operating-temperature claim must apply to the complete offered device, not merely the temperature of a target it can image. This article does not establish that environmental operating range for a Phonemax handset.
Keep four requirements separate
- Complete-device operating ambient temperature.
- Storage conditions when the device is not operating.
- Permitted battery-charging conditions.
- The thermal camera's target measurement range.
Use the P20 Pro reference correctly
The current P20 Pro thermal graphic states −15°C to 550°C for temperature measurement. That is not a declaration that the phone can operate in a 550°C environment, or evidence for −20°C to +60°C ambient use.
Request the environmental documentation
Ask which model, battery, accessories and functions the stated limits cover. If a test report is supplied, check the duration, operating state and acceptance criteria rather than transferring a component rating to the full handset.
Plan the working procedure from manufacturer instructions
Use the manufacturer's guidance for temperature transitions, condensation, storage and charging. Do not improvise a hot/cold exposure trial or assume that a rugged enclosure removes battery or environmental restrictions.
The measurement-versus-operating-temperature guide covers the distinction in a broader setting. This article focuses on documenting the specific ambient-range requirement.
