Dimensions such as 70 × 60 × 50 mm are useful only when buyers know what was measured and how the camera will be mounted. Before designing a housing or work kit around the figure, confirm the exact product drawing and its measurement tolerances.
Check the measurement envelope
Ask whether dimensions include the lens, connector, protective cover and mounting hardware. Request a dimensioned drawing for the actual variant. Allow room for cable bend radius, ventilation and access to controls; a nominal body size may not equal the space needed in an installation.
Match the camera to the application
Define target distance, field of view, image output, power supply and the environment where the camera operates. If temperature readings are required, also request accuracy and calibration information. Confirm how the unit will be secured against vibration or accidental disconnection.
Validate a sample
Fit a physical sample to the planned enclosure or handheld setup before committing to a batch. Record measured clearance and image performance. Do not assume that another camera with a similar listed size shares the same connector, optical design or operating limits.
