Thermal Phone Live Sharing: A Field-to-Expert Workflow

Live thermal sharing can help a remote specialist guide a field worker, but useful collaboration requires context, stable communication and a record of what was observed.

Agree on roles

Identify who controls the camera, who may view the stream and who records the decision. The worker should be able to stop sharing when the scene includes sensitive information or when site safety takes priority.

Check the remote view

Test image clarity, audio communication and delay on the actual network. Show a visible-light context image before a close thermal view so the specialist understands where the target is. If the connection drops, confirm whether the phone preserves a local image for later review.

Document the outcome

Save timestamps, relevant settings, observations and any follow-up action in the normal reporting system. The remote expert should distinguish an apparent hot spot from a verified temperature or diagnosis. Trial the exact app and device configuration before promising real-time support at a remote site.
