A rugged enclosure does not identify the glass covering its display. If Corning Gorilla Glass is a purchase requirement, ask for confirmation of the material and generation for the exact phone. A clear-looking panel, a screen protector or the word “tough” is insufficient evidence.
Specify the cover glass
Request the glass supplier, product generation, thickness and finished screen assembly revision. Check that the claim refers to the phone's cover glass rather than an optional aftermarket protector. Ask the manufacturer to provide a dated specification or approved component declaration tied to the quoted SKU.
Evaluate the complete assembly
Glass performance also depends on device design, edges, mounting and the impact surface. Corning publishes controlled test information for its materials; a material result does not establish an identical result for every finished handset. Assess screen readability, touch accuracy and repair availability alongside durability.
Make replacement parts traceable
A service screen may use a different assembly. Ask whether replacement parts preserve the declared cover glass and whether the device's sealing is checked after repair. Include the approved part number in a fleet maintenance record.
What the X5 page establishes
The current Phonemax X5 description gives a 5.3-inch display, compact body and IP68 rating. It does not identify a Gorilla Glass generation. Therefore, this guide does not assign that material to X5. If a named glass is mandatory, obtain model-specific evidence before approving the purchase. See Corning's material information for context on the manufacturer's tests.
