When a vehicle work record includes several timestamps, identify which event each time represents. Device entry time, submission time and server receipt time may be separate fields. Do not treat their difference as evidence of tablet speed or incorrect data without understanding the workflow.
Define the time fields with the app owner
| Time field | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Observation time | Does a worker enter it or does the app assign it? |
| Save time | What action creates or updates the value? |
| Submission time | Does this identify a local attempt or a completed transfer? |
| Receipt time | Which receiving service records it? |
| Displayed zone | Which zone or offset applies in each view and export? |
Follow one harmless test event
Use a known test record and have the operator and receiving team compare its fields. Retain the displayed zone information. If an offline interval is part of the supported app workflow, ask the provider how it represents an event created before its eventual submission.
Avoid unsupported clock assumptions
A navigation-oriented tablet description does not establish a particular clock-synchronization mechanism or guarantee that every app uses the same time source. Ask IT to approve device-time settings and the software provider to explain the record fields; do not change a live vehicle setup as an improvised test.
The N1 is listed for navigation and roadbooks. The T1 is presented for general industrial work. Neither listing establishes your business system's timestamp meanings.
Discuss the offered tablet build with Phonemax. This is a record-review method, not a verified clock-accuracy result, automatic time-zone capability or vehicle-system certification.
