An OEM enquiry is easier to assess when each requested change has a defined scope and acceptance condition. “A four-inch rugged phone with our brand” leaves the base model, artwork, software and delivery assumptions unresolved.
Separate the base product from the requested change
| Part of the request | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Base configuration | Exact model, memory and required software |
| Branding | Artwork, placement and approval reference |
| Packaging | Contents, language and proposed label text |
| Software request | Named behaviour and a way to check it |
| Commercial scope | Quantity, destination and requested timing |
Do not treat every request as an available option
The current R4-T listing specifies Android 14, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage with a 4.3-inch main display. A request for another display size or a changed enclosure is a separate feasibility question, not an existing configuration established by this article.
Make approval refer to a revision
Give each artwork or requirement file a clear revision. Ask the quotation to identify included work, exclusions and unresolved questions. If the request changes later, ask which cost, sample and schedule assumptions need updating.
For example, replacing a logo file after a sample review should produce a new approval reference. “Use the latest logo” is ambiguous when several versions are circulating.
Keep acceptance observable
Describe what the reviewer will inspect on the sample and which record will show approval. Do not infer that a cosmetic change preserves every environmental claim without checking the relevant evidence.
Send Phonemax the base model and change list. Availability, minimum quantity, engineering charges and lead time require a specific quotation; none are guaranteed here.
