A two-meter immersion claim needs model-specific evidence with the depth, duration, configuration and acceptance checks. Neither a 5G label nor the word “rugged” provides that information.
Request the complete claim
| Evidence item | Question for the supplier |
|---|---|
| Device identity | Which model and enclosure configuration were evaluated? |
| Exposure | What depth, duration and water conditions are stated? |
| Preparation | What closure or setup conditions applied? |
| Acceptance | What inspection and function checks were performed? |
| Applicability | Does the evidence cover the unit being offered? |
Keep the standard and the product report separate
IEC 60529 provides the enclosure-protection classification framework. Its published scope is not a test report for a Phonemax phone, and the framework alone does not establish a particular model's two-meter exposure conditions.
Ask for the relevant model documentation rather than using an old article headline as evidence. If depth or duration is missing, leave the requirement unresolved until the supplier clarifies it.
Do not merge connectivity with protection
The current P20 and P20 Pro listings identify 5G models. That connectivity description does not verify a two-meter immersion result for either one.
Compare the intended exposure
Describe the actual work environment to the supplier and check whether the supplied evidence addresses it. Do not extend a documented test to different liquids, moving water or damaged enclosures without supporting information.
Request the exact model's protection documentation from Phonemax. This guide certifies no immersion depth or duration and does not recommend deliberately submerging a working phone.
