60Hz Thermal Camera Claims: What Buyers Should Verify

For a thermal camera, check whether a “60Hz” claim describes the thermal image output, the phone display, or another part of the imaging system. Request a specification for the exact camera module and device version before treating the number as a purchasing requirement that has been met.

What thermal image frame rate describes

Thermal video consists of successive images. FLIR describes frame rate in hertz or frames per second and distinguishes cameras with different image-update rates. This explains the term; it does not establish the frame rate of a Phonemax device.

Separate the screen from the thermal image stream

A display refresh specification alone does not document how often the thermal camera produces a new image. Ask the supplier to identify which component each stated rate belongs to and whether the live view and saved recording use the same thermal-image rate.

A practical sample-acceptance checklist

  • Identify the camera module, device SKU, firmware and application version.
  • Request the documented thermal output frame rate and the conditions under which it applies.
  • Ask whether the recorded video contains new thermal frames at that rate or repeats images.
  • Check a sample while moving the camera and observing a moving target under your intended operating conditions.
  • Record resolution, measurement requirements and workflow separately rather than treating frame rate as a complete performance score.

Choose around the task

Write down whether you need to scan stationary equipment, follow motion, document an inspection or record thermal video. Have the supplier demonstrate that task on the proposed configuration. A larger number in a title is not a substitute for that demonstration.

Browse the Phonemax thermal imaging range to identify current options, then confirm the exact specifications before ordering. This guide does not verify a 60Hz Phonemax thermal camera or report firsthand frame-rate testing.
