Wi-Fi can be useful for transferring inspection images or sharing a live view, but the word “connectivity” leaves several practical questions unanswered. A buyer should confirm whether the thermal camera connects through the phone, its own wireless link or an external network.
Map the data path
Identify where images are stored, whether the app needs internet access and whether transfer works on the site's managed Wi-Fi. Test a normal upload and an offline shift. Record what happens after a connection drops during capture or export.
Check security settings
Review pairing, authentication, user permissions and the destination of shared files. For company devices, verify that the workflow fits mobile-device management and retention policy. Avoid assuming that a Wi-Fi feature automatically supports the company's preferred cloud service.
Measure usability
Time a complete inspection: capture, annotate, export and retrieve the file. Compare that result with a cable or local-storage workflow. Select the configuration that workers can repeat reliably in the actual environment.
