Define the deliverables
Request the exact model and SKU, declared operating and charging ranges, relevant full-device report, hardware revision and warranty terms. State whether the buyer needs calling, navigation, scanning or sustained app use at −20°C. Include test duration and acceptance criteria.
Separate confirmed and proposed items
Ask the supplier to identify what is published, what was tested and what still needs engineering work. A proposed custom version is not the same as an available tested model. Record sample cost, validation responsibility and the approval step for a changed design.
Clarify support
Include regional carrier configuration, charger, spare parts and the process for a failed pilot. Require written notice before a battery, screen or firmware substitution affects the approved configuration.

The X5 lists compact dimensions, 4G and 5000mAh, but its current description does not state −20°C operation. A supplier can quote it as a hardware candidate; a precise cold-temperature claim needs additional evidence. Keep any unconfirmed requirement visible in the quote rather than silently converting it into a product feature.
