An OEM request for a 6000mAh rugged smartphone should identify how battery specifications will be controlled from sample approval through production. A capacity printed on a quotation is only one part of the configuration record.
Create a battery approval record
Ask for rated and typical capacity, nominal voltage, pack dimensions and the battery or pack identifier. Record how the pack is installed and serviced in the finished phone. Request the applicable transport and compliance documentation for the actual battery and destination market rather than assuming one certificate covers every revision.
Test the complete sample
Use the proposed firmware, application set and charging equipment for the runtime trial. Record charge level at the beginning and end of a representative shift, along with screen settings and network conditions. Repeat any critical workflow that causes unexpected drain. Capacity should not be converted into a guaranteed number of hours without that workload evidence.
Agree on substitution and service rules
Specify which changes require approval: battery supplier, capacity, charging hardware and relevant firmware. Require a new assessment when a change affects the agreed configuration. The current Phonemax X5 has a 5000mAh battery, while P1 is listed at 6100mAh. Neither should be relabeled as an exact 6000mAh OEM variant. Use existing models as comparisons, then document the actual configuration offered. Include spare-parts availability and the authorized replacement procedure in the purchasing agreement so deployment support is considered before production.
