Choosing a Thermal Phone Supplier: Evidence for Image Quality

A thermal phone supplier should be able to explain image quality in terms that match a buyer's inspection task. A polished promotional image does not reveal native sensor detail, focus behavior or measurement accuracy.

Request comparable samples

Describe the target, distance and environment, then ask for original thermal images from the exact model and lens configuration. Include a visible-light reference photograph where useful. Confirm whether displayed detail comes from the native sensor, processing or digital enlargement.

Review specifications separately

Native resolution, field of view, refresh rate and temperature measurement capability serve different purposes. Ask for each in a current specification sheet. If a reading will inform maintenance, request stated accuracy, calibration and limitations instead of assuming that every thermal image is a measurement.

Run a task-based trial

Let the intended users find and document known targets. Save the original files and note conditions. Compare candidate devices using the same test, then ask Phonemax for the model-specific evidence required by your purchasing process.
