A 17µm pixel-pitch requirement needs detector documentation for the exact thermal module. Pixel pitch is a different field from array resolution, wavelength range and target measurement distance. This page does not verify a 17µm detector in a Phonemax phone.
Build a complete detector-and-optics record
- Exact module and detector revision.
- Native pixel-array dimensions and stated pixel pitch.
- Lens specification and field of view.
- The target dimensions and viewing distance needed for the task.
Do not confuse two micrometre entries
The current P20 Pro thermal graphic lists an 8–14µm spectral range. Those micrometres describe wavelengths; they do not specify a 17µm pixel pitch. The same graphic lists 256 × 192 resolution, which also does not identify the spacing of detector pixels.
Assess the system rather than one number
FLIR's radiometric technical note relates pixel pitch, focal length and target geometry. Use that as an explanation of why the optics matter, not as a specification for another handset. A pitch number alone should not be converted into a guaranteed inspection distance or image-quality ranking.
Close the procurement requirement
If 17µm pitch is mandatory, request a traceable module record and have the proposed configuration reviewed against the full application. If the pitch remains undocumented, mark it unverified rather than guessing from image size or a similar product name.
