Memory capacity can help when several apps remain open, but “12 GB RAM” does not by itself establish smooth thermal capture. Storage speed, processor behavior, heat and app design also affect the experience.
Define the workload
List the thermal app, map, messaging client and reporting tool that workers use together. Open them in a repeatable sequence and switch between them during a real inspection. Check whether the thermal app reloads or loses an unsaved capture.
Observe sustained use
Run a longer session in normal ambient conditions. Note app crashes, export time, device temperature and battery change. A short showroom demo may not expose a problem that appears near the end of a shift.
Confirm the configuration
Ask for the exact model and physical memory specification. Compare the tested configuration with the units quoted for purchase. Select capacity because it improves the observed workflow, not because the headline number is larger.
