How Much Should Buyers Trust Huge Megapixel Numbers on Rugged Phones?

Buyers should treat a high megapixel number as one input, not proof of a better camera.

Megapixels describe pixel count and possible output dimensions. Real image usefulness also depends on sensor design, lens quality, focus, exposure, image processing, motion, available light and whether the photograph preserves the detail needed for the task.
