A request for protection at 1.5 meters needs evidence for the exact phone, water conditions and exposure time. A general waterproof description does not establish that combination.
Read the actual claim
Ask the supplier for the model identifier and documented depth and duration. Check cover positions, permitted liquids and the manufacturer's care instructions. Keep the quotation and supporting documentation together. Do not convert an IP label into a depth promise that the supplier has not stated.
Describe the intended exposure
Distinguish accidental water contact from planned underwater operation. Identify whether the work involves rain, splashes or a specific immersion scenario. Ask the supplier whether the device is intended for that use. A laboratory result is not an instruction to reproduce the test on a working phone.
Keep the comparison within the evidence
Current Phonemax X5 information describes IP68 protection under specified laboratory conditions and requires attention to covers and drying before charging. It does not establish a universal 1.5-meter operating allowance. Obtain evidence for the actual requirement before approving a model. Include inspection, drying and reporting of damaged seals in the operating routine so staff understand the protection limits.
Review the current Phonemax X5 product information for the configuration being compared.
