Evaluate a phone mount with the exact phone, case and cable arrangement. A screen-size range on a holder does not establish clearance for side controls, camera views or the charging connector.
Use a fit-and-access checklist
| Mount area | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Clamping surfaces | Fit with the intended case and no unintended button pressure |
| Connector | Space to insert and remove the proposed cable normally |
| Controls | Access to the actions needed for the task |
| Camera | Whether the required view is obstructed |
| Removal | A controlled way to release the device |
Start from body dimensions
The current P20 and P20 Pro records both list 172.6 × 81 × 17.8mm and 394g. Confirm the complete arrangement against the mount supplier's instructions and limits; do not infer fit from a “6.78-inch” search label.
Published device dimensions also do not include an unverified case. Measure the proposed assembly when that affects the fit.
Keep fit separate from environmental performance
A stationary fit check does not establish vibration endurance, impact retention or performance in a vehicle. Ask the mount supplier for evidence relevant to the intended installation and follow its installation instructions.
At a safe stationary location, confirm the normal cable and control sequence. Record interference instead of forcing a connector or altering the phone enclosure.
Ask Phonemax for the relevant phone details and the mount supplier for holder suitability. This guide certifies no mount compatibility, vehicle installation, retention result or 6.78-inch model configuration.
