A 6GB RAM Rugged Phone Brief: Define the App Workload First

A 6GB RAM requirement should come from the apps and workflows the phone must support, not from the enclosure rating. Memory capacity does not establish water resistance, and an IP claim does not show that an Android app will retain its work when staff switch between tasks.

Write down one complete work cycle

For example, an operator might open a dispatch app, view a document, take photographs and return to an unfinished form. List the exact apps and versions, the size of typical files and which information must remain available. This example is a proposed test sequence, not measured performance on a Phonemax model.

Android's memory-management documentation explains that memory is managed across app processes. A total RAM figure alone does not establish how your particular apps behave together.

Use observable acceptance checks

Agree acceptable behaviour with the app owner. Repeat the workload on the proposed hardware and software configuration; avoid treating a synthetic benchmark as a substitute for the job itself.

Specify physical RAM clearly

Ask the supplier to identify physical RAM separately from any software feature marketed as expanded memory. Also specify storage capacity, because saved photographs, documents and app data use storage. Do not combine the two figures into one ambiguous requirement.

The current R4-T product record lists 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, not a 6GB configuration. It is a possible comparison point only if its other features fit the job. This article does not confirm availability of a 6GB Phonemax ODM version.

Send a workload brief instead of a number alone

Provide Phonemax with the app list, task cycle, required storage, operating-system needs and separate protection requirements. Ask which configuration can be supplied and arrange a sample evaluation before deciding whether 6GB is an appropriate target.
