If a procurement sheet requires Android 12, clarify whether it means that exact version, a minimum version or an application-vendor requirement. These are different acceptance conditions and should not be silently substituted.
Resolve the wording before selecting hardware
| Requirement wording | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Exactly Android 12 | Why is that release required, and which build is accepted? |
| Android 12 or later | Has the named app been approved on the offered later version? |
| App-vendor support | Which documented versions and device conditions apply? |
| Managed deployment | What additional IT requirements must the variant meet? |
Keep the listed versions accurate
The current R4-T lists Android 14. The T1 tablet lists Android 16 for Gray 6GB+128GB and Android 10 for Green 8GB+128GB. These records do not establish an Android 12 variant of either product.
Do not relabel a later operating system as Android 12 or assume that a required older build can be installed. Ask about the exact offered software and any supported options.
Keep version checking and app acceptance separate
Record the installed version and build on the evaluation unit, then complete the required app workflow. A newer version number alone is not an application-compatibility result.
Use the build and update-check guide for the software record.
Send Phonemax the reason for the version requirement. No Android 12 availability, downgrade path, future upgrade or named-app approval is confirmed here.
