An OEM order mentioning MIL-STD-810H should state the relevant environmental tests and the configuration they cover. The standard uses environmental tailoring; a general reference does not mean that every possible procedure was performed on every handset.
Choose tests from the work environment
Describe transport vibration, handling drops, outdoor temperature and moisture separately. Ask the supplier to propose named methods and procedures with levels, durations and pass criteria. The buyer can then review whether the proposed exposures represent the job rather than selecting a broad marketing label.
Verify the report identity
Check the tested model, housing, battery, screen, accessory case and hardware revision. Note the laboratory, report number, sample count and date. If the OEM order changes a component relevant to a test, ask whether new validation is required.
Define post-test function
Record which features must work afterward: calling, data, touch, camera, charging and, if required, sealing. A device that powers on may still fail a work-critical function. Include an agreed sample approval and change-control process in the purchase record.
Phonemax reference
The current X5 listing publishes compact hardware and an IP68 claim. It does not supply a specific MIL-STD-810H report in its description. Obtain the appropriate OEM evidence before attaching that statement to the order. The official MIL-STD-810 document listing provides the standard's scope and revisions.
