6.58-Inch FHD and IP68 Rugged Phones: Check Display and Ingress Separately

A request for a 6.58-inch FHD screen and IP68 protection combines two different acceptance questions. The screen must fit the application, while ingress protection must be documented for the exact finished device.

Verify the screen specification

Obtain the diagonal and exact pixel resolution on the quotation. Open the intended application and check whether its tables, maps and signatures fit without excessive scrolling. A larger diagonal does not by itself confirm higher resolution. Include the proposed case and screen protector in the usability trial.

Read the ingress conditions

Request the IP test documentation with the model identifier, test conditions and cover positions. Clarify how port covers must be closed and how the supplier recommends drying the phone before charging. An ingress rating does not establish resistance to every liquid, pressure-washing routine or long-term underwater use.

Handle alternatives explicitly

Phonemax X5 is currently described as a 5.3-inch, 5000mAh, IP68 rugged smartphone. Its IP68 description does not turn it into a 6.58-inch FHD device. If a compact alternative is acceptable, change the size requirement in the purchasing brief and rerun the application trial. If the size is mandatory, require a different documented model. Record the screen decision and the ingress evidence in separate acceptance fields so one successful check cannot conceal a failure in the other.
