A successful data connection does not complete a phone acceptance test. For a 5G rugged device, verify ordinary voice service using the intended operator and configuration.

Confirm service requirements

Ask the operator about the proposed device and calling requirements for the deployment region. Record supported bands from the exact product specification. Use official service guidance for emergency compatibility rather than placing test emergency calls.

Run everyday call tasks

Make normal incoming and outgoing calls at representative locations. Check audio routing with the intended headset and case, then perform a data upload. Record interruptions and any recovery steps with the SIM and firmware identifiers.

Use the right candidate

Current P20 information identifies 5G support with a published regional band list; it does not guarantee every carrier. Evaluate the actual offered configuration. Current X5 is a 4G phone and should not be described as 5G. Keep voice and data outcomes separate in the approval so a fast upload cannot conceal a missing calling function required by staff.
