An OEM brief for a 4.5-inch mini rugged phone should consider how the finished enclosure accommodates controls, connectors and protective accessories. Diagonal size alone does not define the assembly.
Create the physical brief
List display size, overall dimension limits, control locations and required accessory interfaces. Provide the application screens that must remain usable. Ask the supplier to identify which dimensions belong to the phone and which include a case.
Assess the finished sample
Fit the planned holder and charging equipment. Check that controls and connectors can be reached and that the case does not interfere with covers. Trial the most demanding form and record readability and input errors.
Keep the OEM claim tied to evidence
Current X5 information describes a 5.3-inch device, not a documented 4.5-inch OEM configuration. Its dimensions can provide a comparison only if the larger size is accepted. Obtain evidence for the proposed mini design and approve one hardware revision. Agree which panel, enclosure or accessory changes require another fit check so production remains tied to the assembly that was actually evaluated.
Review current Phonemax X5 details for the configuration used as a comparison.
