Phone Weight in Supplier Quotes: Device, Kit and Carton Differ

Keep device weight, packed-kit weight and shipment weight in separate fields when comparing rugged-phone quotes. A bare-phone specification cannot be used as the final shipping figure, and a carton measurement does not describe how the device feels in a worker's pocket.

Name the configuration being weighed

Use published dimensions for the right question

The current R4-T record lists 190 g and a body size of 121 × 59.2 × 18.3 mm. These help compare the device itself. They do not establish the packed weight or carton dimensions for a particular order.

Ask for the offered kit

Request a dated contents list and measurements for the exact proposed packing configuration. If the charger, case, quantity per carton or packaging changes, ask which figures must be updated. Do not multiply a bare-device weight and present the result as a verified shipment weight.

If logistics pricing is required, provide the verified packing information to the chosen carrier or logistics provider. This guide does not calculate freight, customs values or carrier billing weight.

Check carrying comfort separately

For a work trial, use the phone with the intended case, holster and clothing. A favourable bare-device number cannot show whether the complete carried setup interferes with the task.

Record which configuration was assessed so a later accessory change does not silently invalidate the comparison.

Keep the quote readable

Use labelled fields and consistent units, and mark missing measurements as unconfirmed. Retain the supplier's revised packing figures with the corresponding quotation revision.
