An ODM data workflow should define what the receiving system needs, not only how the phone captures information. A photograph, NFC read or location shown on screen is not yet a complete interoperable business record.
Start with a sample output
Ask the system owner to provide a non-production example of an acceptable record. Identify which fields are mandatory and how the receiving software checks them. Keep hardware capture requirements separate from the app and integration work needed to produce that output.
| Output element | Question to agree |
|---|---|
| Identifier | Which job or asset owns the record? |
| Value and unit | How are quantities represented without ambiguity? |
| Date and time | Which format and time reference does the receiver expect? |
| Attachment | How is the image or document linked to the record? |
| Transfer result | How is acceptance, rejection or retry shown? |
Test the receiver, not just the export button
Generate a test record through the proposed workflow, transfer it by the approved route and open it in the destination system. Confirm field meaning, attachment links and rejection behaviour. A file that downloads successfully may still be unusable to the receiving application.
Confirm what the hardware establishes
The R4-T listing includes NFC, cameras and positioning systems. These are possible inputs to evaluate, not a guarantee that the phone or an ODM configuration generates the required business format.
Ask the app and integration owners which work they provide. Do not treat a capture feature as an existing connection to a warehouse, maintenance or project-management platform.
Version the agreed output
Retain the sample, field definitions, app version and destination-system requirements with the project brief. Review a change to a field or attachment process before releasing an updated build.
Discuss hardware and customization questions with Phonemax, while the receiving-system owner approves the record. This is a proposed interface specification; it does not confirm an available integration, API or custom export feature.
