“6.5-inch unlocked phone” is a useful shopping requirement only when both parts are verified for the exact device. Screen diagonal does not tell you whether the phone will work on your carrier, and an “unlocked” label alone does not prove voice or data support in every region.

Check the screen size before comparing anything else

The current Phonemax X5 listing states a 5.3-inch display, a 5000mAh battery and 4G connectivity. It is a compact alternative for buyers who prioritize carrying a smaller rugged phone. X5 is not a 6.5-inch phone. If a 6.5-inch diagonal is mandatory for your application layout or reading distance, ask for the specification of a different, explicitly identified model; do not infer it from the X5 link.

What “unlocked” still leaves to verify

Compare the exact model's published LTE bands with the carrier's bands in the country where it will be used. Then test the delivered regional version with a local SIM. Place an ordinary voice call, use mobile data, and verify VoLTE where that service is needed. Carrier policies and emergency calling may depend on certification or provisioning beyond supported radio bands. The X5 listing describes a T615 Full-Band version and a G81 Europe & Asia version, with different configurations; do not treat their coverage as interchangeable.

Screen checks for a work application

Use the actual app on a sample in the expected light. Read the smallest labels, check that its buttons fit without scrolling, try on-screen typing and note how long the device can be held comfortably. A 6.5-inch target may be about interface legibility, while a smaller device can make one-handed carrying easier. Ask for resolution, brightness and touch behavior of the exact large-screen candidate: diagonal size alone does not answer those questions.
