Rugged Phone Size: Compare the Body Before the Screen Label

For a rugged phone that must be carried all day, compare body dimensions, weight and access to controls before choosing a screen-size category. A “six-inch phone” description does not tell you whether it fits the intended pocket or carrying arrangement.

Compare verified body figures

Current listing Dimensions Listed device weight
R4-T 121 × 59.2 × 18.3mm 190g
P20 172.6 × 81 × 17.8mm 394g

These figures come from the R4-T and P20 records. They are device figures, not packaged shipping weights or measurements with a case attached.

Walk through retrieval and return

At a safe stationary position, check where the device is stored, how it is retrieved and how it is returned after a task. Include the actual case or holster being considered. A pocket's opening and available depth matter alongside the handset width.

Check reach on the real task

Open the required work screen and identify which actions require repositioning or a second hand. Record whether the carrying setup interferes with controls or connectors. Do not infer comfortable one-handed operation from the dimensions alone.

The R4-T's published main display is 4.3 inches; this article does not classify either model as a verified six-inch device. For screen terminology, use the display-specification guide.

Ask Phonemax about the exact offered model. No carrying-comfort or usability test result is claimed here.
