The Phonemax P20 Pro is one of the principal thermal-imaging devices being presented at Booth 2A30.

According to its current product specification, the P20 Pro integrates a 256 × 192 thermal imaging system into a 5G rugged smartphone. It also combines a 10,000mAh battery, 66W fast charging and a 6.6-inch 120Hz display, alongside rugged protection designed for field use.

Its relevance to professional users is not simply the presence of a thermal sensor. Integrating thermal imaging into an Android mobile terminal means that image capture, communication, navigation, work applications and documentation can remain on the same device.

For maintenance and inspection teams, this creates a more direct workflow between identifying a temperature difference, recording the situation and communicating the result from the field.

The R4 GT therefore occupies a different position from the larger P20 Pro: its emphasis is on specialized imaging in a smaller, lighter mobile format.

X5: A Compact Rugged Phone for Everyday Field Communication

The Phonemax X5 plays another role in the Security Essen display.

Unlike the P20 Pro and R4 GT, the X5 is not built around thermal imaging. It is designed as a more conventional rugged smartphone in a smaller body, making it relevant for personnel who primarily need communication, navigation, work applications and basic documentation.

The current X5 specification lists a 5.3-inch display, 238g weight, Android 16 and a 5000mAh battery, with dimensions of 140.5 × 67.7 × 15.4 mm.

There are also two distinct hardware configurations.

The T615 Full-Band version offers broader published band coverage, optional 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, a larger speaker and side fingerprint unlocking. The G81 Europe & Asia version uses a MediaTek G81 platform with a standard 4GB + 64GB configuration and is intended for supported European and Asian networks. Actual network compatibility still depends on the selected version, carrier and local frequency deployment.

That version distinction is especially relevant at a European trade event.

A security company, distributor or field-service organization may not need thermal imaging for every employee. For personnel whose primary requirements are calls, messaging, navigation, Android applications, photos and routine field communication, a smaller rugged phone can be a more appropriate deployment option than a larger specialized terminal.

T11 Pro: Extending the Same Approach to a Larger Screen

The Security Essen booth also includes the T11 Pro rugged tablet, expanding the display from handheld smartphones to a larger-screen field terminal.

The model shown at the exhibition combines a rugged tablet format with thermal-imaging and 5G capabilities.

A larger display changes the type of work that can be handled comfortably in the field. Reviewing images, working with maps, completing digital forms, reading technical information or sharing visual information with several people can benefit from additional screen space.

The T11 Pro therefore complements rather than duplicates the smartphones on display: the common theme is rugged mobile computing, while the form factor is adapted to a different workflow.
