A non-camera requirement must specify which imaging hardware and functions are prohibited. A phone described as “without thermal camera” is not thereby a camera-free phone. Disabling an app also does not demonstrate that camera hardware is absent.
Ask the site owner for the exact requirement
| Requirement question | What needs clarification |
|---|---|
| Hardware | Which front, rear or specialist cameras must be absent? |
| Software controls | Is a managed restriction acceptable, or is physical absence required? |
| Other imaging | How are barcode readers or external accessories treated? |
| Evidence | What documentation and inspection will the site accept? |
Read the product wording literally
The P20 listing identifies the standard P20 as being without a thermal camera. That statement distinguishes it from the thermal P20 Pro; it does not establish a camera-free variant.
For comparison, the R4-T record explicitly lists main, night-vision and front cameras. It should not be proposed as camera-free on the basis of a software setting.
Confirm before ordering or bringing a device on site
Request written confirmation for the exact offered configuration, then obtain the site's acceptance using its own process. Do not assume that a covered lens or removed shortcut satisfies the requirement.
Ask Phonemax whether the precise requested configuration can be supplied. This guide does not confirm that a camera-free Phonemax model is available, that hardware removal is supported or that a device is approved for a restricted site. The original non-camera keyword is a requirement to clarify, not a verified product feature.
