IP67 Rugged Tablet Requests: Check Model and Test Conditions

An IP67 requirement must be tied to the exact tablet and the supplier's stated test conditions. An “8-inch” product description does not establish ingress protection, and this page supplies no model-specific IP67 test report.

Read the offered model's actual declaration

The current T1 and N1 records describe IP68/IP69K protection. Do not rewrite those labels as an IP67 test result or infer that every possible exposure has been evaluated. Request the relevant documentation for the configuration on the quotation.

Match the documentation to the setup

  • Exact model, variant and tested enclosure configuration.
  • Port covers, fitted accessories and conditions stated by the manufacturer.
  • The exposure method and limits applicable to the requirement.
  • The checks used to assess device function after testing.

Keep other hazards separate

IEC 60529 addresses degrees of enclosure protection. Its designation should not substitute for chemical-compatibility, drop-test or hazardous-area evidence. A screen size is also a separate purchasing field.

Plan use from approved instructions

Use the manufacturer's guidance for cleaning, drying and charging. Ask for clarification if the proposed field exposure differs from the documented conditions rather than promising permanent waterproofing.
