A sample pilot should end with a documented decision about the tested configuration and work task. Agree what must pass, what remains unresolved and who can approve deployment before distributing sample phones.
Choose a bounded pilot
Select the actual task, permitted locations, app and accessory arrangement. Identify the operators and support route. Keep the pilot within documented device conditions and site rules; it is a usability evaluation, not an improvised environmental qualification test.
| Pilot item | Decision evidence |
|---|---|
| Core task | Completed representative records in the receiving system |
| Handling | Observed carrying, input and retrieval problems |
| Connectivity | Results at the relevant approved locations |
| Support | Issues logged with an owner and a next step |
| Protection | Required model documentation reviewed separately |
Record failures as well as successful tasks
Retain the configuration and circumstances of each issue. A short successful demonstration should not erase a repeated problem found in normal work. Distinguish a device limitation from an app or process change that still needs evaluation.
Use a decision that matches the evidence
Approve the tested configuration when the required checks are satisfied. If an important requirement remains unresolved, keep deployment on hold or limit it to an explicitly approved scope. Do not generalize one pilot to every model, carrier, location or app version.
For organizing the requirements, use the ODM task-priority guide. Its categories are planning aids, not product scores.
Carry changes back into the pilot
If the supplier proposes a hardware or software revision, identify which checks need repeating. Record the new configuration and result before treating it as the approved sample.
Agree the sample scope and available information with Phonemax. This article does not report completed pilot results, a recommended sample size or a guaranteed rollout outcome; it provides a proposed decision process.
