Mini Phone Screens: Test the Form, Not Just the Diagonal

Choose a mini phone by testing the visible work area in the actual application. A four-inch search phrase does not reveal how much of a form remains visible after the keyboard opens, how labels wrap or whether the final action can be reached comfortably.

Use the exact model specification

The current R4-T listing specifies a 4.3-inch main display at 540 × 1200, with a body measuring 121 × 59.2 × 18.3mm and a listed weight of 190g. It should not be described as a confirmed 4.0-inch model to match a keyword.

Those specifications provide a starting point for comparison. They do not establish the usable space in every app or a measured one-handed usability result.

Build a realistic screen sequence

Record settings with the result

Use the proposed app version, text settings and normal orientation. If the operator changes text size or zoom, repeat the important screens and record the setting. A screenshot from a different phone is not a substitute for this check.

Compare carrying and input together

Check how the device fits the intended carrying position and how it is retrieved before the task. Review the actual width, thickness and weight alongside the display. Avoid deciding solely on the smaller diagonal if the work sequence becomes harder to complete.
