Thermal Image Enhancement: Verify Features and Evidence

Ask what an “AI-enhanced thermal image” function actually does before accepting it as a thermal-phone capability. A sharper-looking picture does not by itself identify the algorithm, prove native detector resolution or validate a temperature reading. This page does not verify an AI enhancement function in a Phonemax handset.

Identify the promised output

Ask whether the feature changes contrast, adds visible-camera detail, reduces noise, increases output pixel dimensions or performs automated detection. Record the exact mode name, software version and output file. These are different functions and should not share an undefined “AI” promise.

Use a documented example carefully

FLIR describes its MSX technology as adding visible-image detail to a thermal image. That illustrates why a buyer should distinguish presentation detail from the thermal sensor's own specification. It does not establish that a Phonemax device uses MSX or a comparable algorithm.

Compare the same scene

1. Request the original thermal output and the enhanced output from the same configuration and scene.
2. Record which mode was enabled and whether settings changed.
3. Check whether the output retains the information your reporting workflow needs.
4. Ask for separate evidence if the supplier claims improved measurement accuracy or automatic defect detection.

Keep the product baseline separate

The current P20 Pro thermal graphic publishes 256 × 192 resolution and a 25Hz refresh rate. Do not replace these manufacturer entries with an enhanced image's pixel dimensions or an unspecified “AI resolution.” Confirm the exact delivered app functions on a sample.
