Reading a 1.5-Meter Phone Test Report Across Languages

When a phone's immersion report is supplied in another language, preserve the model identity, units, conditions and result before relying on a translated summary. A sales translation should not turn a limited test statement into an unrestricted waterproof claim.

Keep the original and translation together

Retain the full source document and identify the translated version. Do not work only from a screenshot of the result page if the model details or conditions appear elsewhere. If a term is unclear, mark it for clarification instead of filling the gap from a brochure.

Report element Translation check
Model and revision Match the offered device exactly, including suffixes
Units Retain depth, duration and temperature units as written
Configuration Preserve closure and accessory conditions
Result wording Keep its stated scope and qualifications
Document identity Retain issuer, report reference and relevant dates

Watch for two common changes in meaning

First, do not remove a duration from a depth statement. Second, do not replace a result for the named sample with “all models certified.” These are changes to the technical meaning, not improvements in readability.

The IEC 60529 publication describes enclosure protection classification. Linking to the standard is not a replacement for the phone's report, in any language. This guide does not verify a 1.5-meter result for a Phonemax model.

Resolve discrepancies before using the claim

Send the disputed wording and original passage to the supplier. Where a report's authenticity needs checking, contact the named issuer through independently obtained details. A translation can preserve content; it cannot authenticate a document.

Use the approved wording consistently

Once clarified, keep the approved statement with the specification used for purchasing or dealer copy. Do not retranslate the same phrase independently for a quotation, image and product page if that creates conflicting promises.

For the underlying exposure questions, see the immersion procurement guide. Ask Phonemax for the relevant model documentation and clarification of ambiguous wording before placing an order.
